Tomás Saraceno

Installation view of 'Cloudy House' at Andersen's Contemporary Berlin, 2009 'Galaxies Forming Along Filaments, Like Droplets Along the Strands of a Spider', 2008

Tomás Saraceno produces work which blurs the boundaries between conceptual art, architecture and structural engineering. Many of his pieces explore complex networks and the relationships between spaces.

14 Billions (Working Title), 2010

His latest work, 14 Billions, is a giant (and accurate) model of a Black widow spider's web; created with the help of spider experts and astrophysicists, the piece probes the similarities between the structure of the web and that of our universe.

Some more work is viewable at the Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, ArtNet and DesignBoom.
