Michael Nichols: Redwoods for National Geographic
I've always been a fan of National Geographic Magazine, not least for the astounding quality of the photography featured in it's articles.
However, that level of quality isn't easily achieved. The image above was taken by wildlife photographer Michael Nichols for the October issue; when the subject is a 300ft redwood tree, there are bound to be some logistical hurdles to overcome.

Hi Jerica,
Sorry, as far as I know the photograph was only published in National Geographic - you could try their web site, or perhaps contact the photographer directly.
Good luck!

The Nat Geo Explorer video is now showing up online too. Its like a 44 minute version of this redwood stuff. Inlcludes the photographing of this tree too. And the research climbers.
My name is linked to a viewing window for the video.
Also, a six foot print is available if folks search National Geographic's stuff.
