Jason Koxvold
Stark photography of urban decay, using muted palettes; yet these images from NY creative director/photographer Jason Koxvold have an almost alien feel to them, which for me sets them apart from many other documentary works. From an interview by Matthew Newton with Jason Koxvold, at ComputerLove:
“There are myriad approaches you can take in examining urban decay. Maybe you find beauty in entropy; maybe you're reacting against the futility of trying to project order onto living systems; or perhaps you're motivated by some personal story. Whatever your inspiration, though, I think it's important that these stories are documented and seen.”
The pictures above are from a series entitled "City Of The Future", focusing on Detroit; you can see more of this work on Flickr.
