Eero Saarinen
Finnish-born architect and product designer Eero Saarinen was notable for his use of many different architectural materials and methods of construction, never settling on a 'signature' style. However, the flowing concrete lines of the TWA Terminal at New York's JFK airport (and to an extent his Tulip chair for Knoll) are what the majority would associate with him.
The works mentioned above are very evocative of the optimistic era they were born into. Michael Bierut at Design Observer:
“As a moviegoer, you may have seen Saarinen's interiors in Catch Me if You Can, where Steven Spielberg and production designer Jeannine Oppewall used TWA's concourses to instantly evoke the breezy, sexy spirit that informed the dawn of the jet set era.”
You can see many of Saarinen's buildings at Mary-Ann Sullivan's architectural image archive, and a really good reference is available in the form of Shaping The Future. A retrospective of the same name is currently showing at MCNY.

There are tons of great images of the TWA terminal at the Yale University Image Archive (found through Aqua-Velvet).
