Cristiana Couceiro

Cover for New York Times Book Review Illustration from the series 'Those are white words II'

Cristiana Couceiro is a Portugese artist who works mainly in collage. Her images mix elements of mid-century modernism and retro '60s design with unusual typography, creating a unique aesthetic that's also somehow slightly familiar; I can see the influences of Swiss designers like Max Bill and Josef Muller-Brockmann in some of the works too.

Cristiana also has a blog at Hue and Saturation, which contains some nice design work, from varied sources but mainly centred around Portugal.
